A Release

This retreat is an invitation to release urgency, performance, and the habit of doing too much for too long. It is not escape but true rest - the kind that softens your nervous system and reminds you what it feels like to be yourself.

We believe movement, nature, and presence are medicine, and our intention is to create a space where you can exhale fully, return to your body, and trust the pace of your own unfolding.

The Experience

We’ll gather at Straus Home Ranch, a family-run ranch on the shores of Tomales Bay in West Marin. In 1941, Ellen and Bill Straus, refugees from Nazi Europe, settled here and devoted their lives to protecting Marin’s open spaces from development. Today their children carry that legacy forward, caring for the land and the community their parents helped preserve.

Our twice daily yoga & meditation practices will take place outdoors or in the ranch’s beautifully restored barn, a space that has held generations of gatherings and celebrations of love. You can expect a blend of energizing vinyasa and grounding slow flows. Each class weaves in yogic philosophy to encourage presence, self-inquiry, and a deeper connection to the world around you.

Each day we’ll come together for shared experiences such as farm-to-table meals by local chefs, guided hikes, and seasonal offerings around the property. These moments are thoughtfully designed to deepen your connection to this special place.

Time is also set aside for unstructured moments where you can choose to read in the sun, walk barefoot on the sand, or wander among the trees. There is always an open invitation to slow down and listen to your needs.

FAQs

Please visit our retreat policies page if you would like to learn more.

  • Each day, we offer two practices. One is an energizing all-levels vinyasa with options to soften or intensify, allowing you to meet your body’s energy and connect with your strength, confidence, and center.

The other is a slower, somatic flow that encourages grounding, release, and mindful awareness.

Through attentive presence in our movement, we cultivate nonjudgmental awareness on the mat and learn to carry this ease and clarity with us into the world.

No prior yoga experience is necessary. Every movement offered is optional, not mandatory. Participants are encouraged to choose what serves them and to rest whenever needed.
